Plane removed from house after Thursday evening crash, NTSB and FAA investigating

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – An investigation is officially underway after a plane crashed into a Vigo County home on Thursday night.
Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are looking into the crash.
It happened after 7:00 near Sky King Airport in Northern Vigo County. The plane was removed from the house Friday afternoon.
Officials told News 10 two people were removed from the plane. On Friday morning, Vigo County Sheriff Ewing told News 10 that William Patrick O’Neill (who the 1980 Cessna 172N is registered to) was listed in stable condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Sheriff Ewing stated the second person in the plane was taken to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute and is listed in critical condition.
Just before 12:30 p.m. Terre Haute Regional Hospital released the following statement: “The occupants of the plane included two members of the Terre Haute Regional Hospital medical staff – Pathologist Dr. Patrick O’Neill and Anesthesiologist Dr. John Trump.”
